About Me (In My Own Words)
My surgery has not been officially scheduled but it will be early in 2020. I was born with a bicuspid “C” valve. Most bicuspid valves form when two leaflets didn’t separate, mine never formed there have always been 2. I knew corrective surgery would be required one day but I never thought I’d be in my early thirties when it happened. A routine visit showed change in the narrowing of the valve so the cardiologist ordered a CT scan, there they discovered the aneurysm measuring at 4.9, they typically intervene at 5.0 or greater. I have not yet decided on the type of valve (tissue or mechanical) .
