About Me (In My Own Words)
Had Rheumatic fever as a child. Mitral valve prolapse, murmur and in my early 50's I developed
atrial fibrillation.
It was treated with meds and life style changes.
Twenty years later, my tricuspid valve failed also. Open heart surgery was the only option. A Maze procedure was done also which was not successful.
I am four months out of surgery and have had rehab in the hospital, rehab in an inpatient facility, home health nurses and am in PT and OT outpatient currently. Getting my strength back is slow but progressing. Glad I had the surgery....
