About 5 years ago during a routine physical exam my GP heard a heart "murmur". Further testing reviled Aortic Stenosis. Within this period of time and no real symptoms, I had yearly echo cardiograms. This year with exercise I found myself short of breath but no pain or other symptoms. Further testing put my diagnosis as "moderate -severe". My cardiologist suggested I consult a Heart surgeon.
