About Me (In My Own Words)
Oct. 31, 2025: It’s now been 2.5 years since my surgery and life is good! I’m active, make sure I get rest when I need it and keep engaged. 20 lbs lighter now, too. Keep your spirits up and a positive outlook (which is my nature anyway) and my family is there for me, so yes, I’ve been more than fortunate. Medical care in Canada is top notch and absolutely without cost to the patient.
May 7, 2023 : It’s been a week since the medical team at Vancouver General Hospital performed by heart valve repairs and the entire process went so much better than I anticipated. Our imaginations play a big role in outcomes and I’m so fortunate for all the assistance. From the moment they took me in at reception to my release 6 days later, the staff was professional, caring and kind, and made it all manageable. There remains lots to do in recovery but I just want other patients to know, at least from my point of view, leave it to the professionals. They know what they’re doing! Let me add: thank you to the Canadian medical system. We are very, very fortunate to have a system in place that takes care of everyone, anytime.
