About Me (In My Own Words)
Apparently had a congenital defect that did not impact me until I was 63 years old. Started to get some chest pains and was referred to cardiological department of local hospital (Royal Free Hospital - London, UK) where tests revealed a calcified aortic valve with stenosis, but that I had not suffered a heart attack. However I was mainly asymptotic and so the hospital placed me on a watch list until January 2020 when it was decided that the time had come to replace the valve and plans were put in place for additional tests to lead up to a July 2020 operation (procedure).
Then COVID struck-and everything went upside down. The public (State) hospitals became COVID hospitals, and the private hospitals were temporarily nationalised. (To be continued)
