About Me (In My Own Words)
Hi, I am in my early 40s and in relatively good health.
A few months ago I was diagnosed with a severe aortic valve leak. I was told I was born with it, and I need a mechanical valve soon otherwise I could drop dead in between 2-5 years.
The more I have researched the procedure the worse my impression of it has become. The worst part for me is I simply can't bring myself to take the Coumadin (rat poison) for the rest of my life. As someone who has avoided all artificial medication my entire life (eg aspirin) it is just several steps too far to start on Coumadin. I know many people will say they have taken it for years and have had no problem, but plenty of others on this very website say they wish they had never taken it and outlined the complications they have experienced.
I have basically been felling trapped and rushed into a choice between possible fast death if I do nothing, and a slow death via Coumdain.
I have two main questions I would like feedback on...
1. Does anyone believe it is possible for people with valve stenosis to enter a natural program via a qualified nutritionalist which may actually stimulate tissue growth around the valve, thus fixing the cause rather than treating the symtoms? Does anyone have experience doing this?
2. What do you think about the procedure, developed by Dr. Marc Gerdisch of Indianapolis, where an "Extracellular Matrix" cloth is attached to the damaged valve, which can then encourage tissue growth and fix the problem without the need for a replacement valve? See http://cardiactissuerepair.net/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=1&tabid=34 for more info on this procedure.
Thanks and God bless you all!
