About Me (In My Own Words)
I was born with a mitral valve prolapse 78 years ago. My tonsils were taken out at age 5 to stop the arrhythmias - didn't work, still had them.
The valve started regurgitating about 1-1/2 years ago, and is now very severely regurgitating. I also have paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.
Cardiologist recommends mitral valve replacement. I need to give him my decision December 9, 2013.
Upon the recommendation of my surgeon and cardiologist, I agreed to have the valve replaced. Surgery is scheduled for Monday, June 30.
I'm getting a bit anxious about it all. Read Adam's book, and that has helped, but still have to go through it! Gulp!
