About Me (In My Own Words)
I was born with a congenital heart defect. Aortic stenosis. I have been monitored my whole life and have had 3 healthy children. I am now 34 years old and I have just been informed my moderate aortic stenosis has progressed to severe which was actually quite a shock for me.. I have a meeting with surgeons in January 2016 to make a plan.
At this stage I only have mild symptoms, palpitations, dizziness. Otherwise active and healthy.
I'm really nervous and I guess I'm hoping to learn more and feel more positive about valve replacement surgery.
