About Me (In My Own Words)
I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve and in the last few years it has been leaking. I have had no symptoms. At 39 years of age on April 23 2014 I had an on-x mechanical valve put in. However I have made a big mistake in getting this put in as the sound is making me have irrational thoughts. The clicking sound is unbearable at times. I naively thought that I would not hear the valve but I hear it all the time. I have gone back to my surgeon and said I cannot live with this. I am simply not living. Has anyone ever had a mechanical valve replace with a tissue valve because of the sound. I would gladly accept being a re operative patient for the rest of my life rather than a clicking sound.
