44 year old with Bicuspid Aortic Valve. Diagnosed when I was seven and used "don't push yourself" as an excuse for many years. Since turning 40 I've run 1000 miles in 2013, run a half and most recently a full marathon and three triathlons. In July my latest echo said stenosis is severe at 0.7cm! Time to head into surgery to begin phase two of my life. I'm still trying to decide on the age old tissue or mechanical valve dilemma....
