About Me (In My Own Words)
Hello,
I was diagnosed with bicuspid Aortic Valve and developed an aneurysm in late 30s. In 2009 I have the Bentall procedure , a surgery to replace part of the aorta and the aortic valve of the heart because of an aneurysm in the aorta. I received a Edwards bovine valve. The surgery was successful and 14 years later I am still ticking away. I am currently being seen by an amazing doctor at NYU, named Dr. Halpern. Because at some point I will need a second surgery I am also being followed at Cleveland Clinic, where I want the surgery done. I hope to meet a community who like me are faced with these scary decisions.
