About Me (In My Own Words)
I was diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic valve as a result of a congenital defect. In addition, I have aortic stenosis and valve leakage. I underwent surgery in 2020, the year I turned 18, which involved an aortic valve repair.
After the surgery, I was informed that I still had a mild degree of aortic valve insufficiency. Unfortunately, over time, the condition has worsened, and it is now between grade 2 and 3, requiring another surgery soon.
Currently, I am undergoing blood pressure therapy and being monitored every six months. Despite this, I experience pain every few months. At the moment, I’m writing my thesis and hoping to finish university before undergoing the second operation.
However, I’m struggling to decide which type of surgery to choose. I’m afraid that if I opt for another aortic valve repair, it may not last, just like the previous one, and I might need yet another surgery in a few years.
