Over seven years ago the doctors found that I had stenosis because I went into the hospital with a high fever. They stated the root cause was endocardiatis. The cardiologists in our home town of Scranton, PA kept an eye on it. About 2 1/2 years ago, the stenosis reading was less than .9 but I was asympotmatic with no issues. Since that time it has gone down to .7 but still without problems. My wife and I moved to Florida because of her job.
I have a new cardiologist and he is concerned with the closing of the valve. I am scheduled for the scope TEE in a few weeks. The cardiologist is recommending Dr. Accola for the surgery. I noticed Dr. Accola was mentioned in Adam's book and comes highly recommended. I am anxious about the surgery and if anyone can provide additional advice, it is much appreciated. I am a childhood cancer survivor as well. Adam's book has been very informative.
