About Me (In My Own Words)
According to my dr. my surgery will be more critical because the aortic valve replacement done in 2010 was with a horse valve. It is now known these are very poor valves and don't last long, mine lasted 6 years before starting to leak by again. They also make it to do the TAV-R due to the poor design of the horse valve. I will go into surgery on 2/24/21 on will be fully prepped for open heart surgery if the TAV-R doesn't work which means i will be under full anesthesia in case I need to be opened up for a ON-X mechanical valve installation. In all my reading I have yet to see anybody discuss TAV-R and horse valves. If I make it next week I will let you know the results.
