Hello..I had an aortic valve replacement at Cleveland Clinic in November 2012. I have recovered nicely and I had chosen the tissue valve versus the mechanical valve because I did not want the constant reminder of my illness with the blood tests. Well, as it turns out, I had to go on coumadin and get the blood tests anyway because I had a problem with AFIB. Hopefully, when I need surgery again they will have a better way of replacing the valve. I know they are experimenting with replacing the valve by catheter through the groin right now, so that would spare us from having that awful chest incision!
Cleveland Clinic was the best and I woluld recommend them to everyone!
