About Me (In My Own Words)
I had my aortic valve replaced with a biological valve on the 6th of October. My surgery went well and I was released from the hospital on the 11th and went to my sister’s. Unfortunately I had to go back to the hospital overnight on the 13th as I had a reaction to the apixaban and amiodarone which I have since been taken off of. I am now just taking metroprolol twice a day (for 4 weeks) and 81 mg of aspirin a day. My hemoglobin is only 72 so I am a tired girl. I was very healthy going in with a clear angiogram and expected to feel a lot better than I do today. I take my dog for a 5 minute walk and am panting by the time I get home. But I have seen a wee improvement in my breathing between yesterday and today though. I look forward to breathing normally again. The tiredness I expected but I do not understand why breathing is so difficult and worry that it will never get better.
I appreciate this site and hope that everyone is well on the road to recovery,
Lynne
