About Me (In My Own Words)
Hi Adam, I had a bicuspid valve from birth and at 62 had an aortic aneurysm, so had mechanical valve replacement and aortic arch surgery in November 2016.
I am now 68 years old. I was doing really well for the last 6 years. Physically I could do most things like walking 10-15 miles and gardening. I was doing really well but recently (3 months) I have been having episodes of dizziness and have to sit down, however recently I ended up on the floor and ended up in emergency. I didn't actually go unconscious but it was close. Emergency checked out ECG and heart and Bloods and found all to be OK. At the start of these episodes, I got extremely hot and sweating and on this occasion was sick shortly afterwards. The hospital found no actual cause and asked me to seek further advice from a heart consultant.
The only meds I take are blood thinners and statin. Blood pressure well within range. 132/73.
I have booked into see a consultant, but it may be a couple of weeks yet.
Has anyone else had similar experiences and if so what has been done?
Thanks! Lionel
