About Me (In My Own Words)
I was born with Mitral Vavle Prolapse, I was always told that it would be something that never would bother me but it would be something that will need to be monitored as I got older.
I currently have been working at Lincoln Health in Wellness/Rehab Department. December 2014, I was at work and had this werid feeling come over me. It was a feeling that I had never had before, I felt like I was going to pass out. I became very short of breath, and very sick to my stomach. I told my supervisor that I needed to go downstairs and go to the ER cause I had chest pains. She said ok and to let her know what was going on. So I got down to the ER, the beginning of it i dont remember much cause i was soo woozy. but from what I was told i was hooked up to EKG, and my heart rate was showing PVC's. I ended up having to wear a heart monitor for 48 hours.
Days after this all happened I still didnt feel all that good. I ended up going and seeing my primary care doctor. She decided that with everything going on that it would be a good idea to get a echo done and to have a consult with cardiologist. So with that, I had the echo, and saw my cardiologist. He found that I have a severe leak in mitral vavle. My mitral vavle has turned in to mitral vavle reguritation. part of my leaflet of my mitral vavle is enlarged. My caridologist has done a TEE to confirm. He also did caradic cath to rule out my symptoms i have been having to make sure i dont have a blockages. My cardiologist thinks that a repair would be bentifical for me since I am so young. I am only 28. I have a scheduled appointment with surgeon Feb 24... and then go from there.
