About Me (In My Own Words)
A few weeks ago I was surprisingly diagnosed with severe mitral and severe tricuspid regurgitation. I found out because I started having constant PVCs and, when I went to donate blood about the same time, I had an unusually high blood pressure. My husband and I are both physicians and listened to my heart (thank goodness!) and we heard a loud murmur. I had an ECHO the following week and was expecting maybe some mitral valve prolapse, so the severe regurgitation of both valves was a shock. Good news is that my left ventricular looks okay and other than the PCVs I’m not symptomatic. After an intense weekend of research we choose Dr. Gillinov at the Cleveland Clinic for my repair and are so very happy that he was able to accommodate us.
