About Me (In My Own Words)
I just set a surgery date to replace my aortic valve. I stumbled upon this community and reading the blog and posts I'm hoping I can get needed information.
I'm relatively young (54) and that seems to be a factor in what type of valve, but I have concerns about mechanical valves... I also have concerns about the biologic valves. You could say I'm just concerned.
I found out I had a heart murmur about 9 or 10 yrs ago and honestly, I just fine and stable until about two months ago, then it's like I fell of a cliff and starting having symptoms, so here I am.
I've wondered how long I can put off surgery, my surgeon answered, a couple months....that's not what I wanted to hear, but it's the truth.
