About Me (In My Own Words)
I was diagnosed w/congenital heart disease as an infant, had my first heart cath in 1957 just before I turned 4. The doctors at that time told my parents I wouldn’t even make it to 5. Through the years I had many heart caths and was told I might live to 15, 21, 40. In March of ‘01 I had my mitral valve replaced with a St Jude mechanical. As my kids say, “I took a licking and kept on ticking “! My aortic valve has always had some regurgitation, progressing from mild to moderate through the years, most recently progressing to moderate/severe. My cardiologist has referred me to Morton Plant Heart Valve Clinic for a possible TAVR. Oh, yes, I recently turned 70. 😊
