About Me (In My Own Words)
I have known about my BAV for about 20 years. So far it's been very mild but this year it moved to moderate to severe. My cardiologist said there is a good chance I will be needing surgery in the next year or two. He also said there is a chance that I will be eligible for the TAVR procedure. Because this procedure is so new I have some reservations about it. But I have already had 3 major abdominal surgeries so the idea of having to go through an open heart surgery isn't very exciting to me either.
For now I am just taking one day at a time.
