About Me (In My Own Words)
I have known for many years that I had a heart murmur but didn’t know the full extent of what that meant. After learning that I had a bicuspid aortic valve, I was monitored for a few years until my echocardiogram results indicated that a valve replacement was needed. I was in great health and largely asymptomatic leading up to the surgery. I’m now 4.5 months out from surgery (SAVR) and finishing up a 34 session cardiac rehab program. This site and the resources I found here helped me prepare for a successful surgery and recovery. I am so thankful for this community and resources!
