About Me (In My Own Words)
For over a year I had a horrible cough that worsen with deep breathes. After two referrals I was referred to a heart Doctor and he ordered tests and called saying to make an appointment with the surgeon. The surgeon had no openings until the next month! On the 13 of November I was awakened by strong chest pressure and shortness of breathe. I got up and went to the recliner I was really anxious and nervous. I could not sit still so I started washing clothes and when my husband got up I told him that he needed to shower and take me to the hospital. He says a shower helps him start his day so he quickly got ready. He took me to Christ Hospital and would mot let him in due to Covid. He was really upset and worried since we did not get to hug or kiss goodbye.
I was examined and given meds and admitted for further testing . My heart doctor talked the surgeon into scheduling my surgery and they did all the pre op testing the surgeon needed. I was kept 4 days and sent home to rest for 6 days. Then on the 23rd I had successful open heart surgery. I am now almost 2 months out!
