About Me (In My Own Words)
I was diagnosed with congenital aortic valve stenosis and regurgitation along with an aortic aneurysm, On 7/01/2013 I underwent an 11 hour open heart surgery at Hackensack University Med Ctr. in N.J.. I do not recall going to Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at all but am told that after 24 hrs, I was put into a medical coma to give my body a chance to fight a case of double pneumonia for the next 33 days. upon my discharge I was brought by ambulance to CareOne Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wall, N.J. This made it easier for my wife and family (2 sons,father in-law, mother in-law and brother in-law ) to visit. After 31 days I was discharged to home and have been enjoying a much improved life since. I am very thankful to Dr. Gabriele DiLuozzo and his fine team of cardiac surgeons for the excellent work they performed on me and will always keep them in my prayers.
