Hi...I had a number of symptoms of heart failure and was checked out for what should happen..scheduled for immediate aortic valve replacement and they did a coronary vessel at the same time. Recovery good. 3 or 4 years later symptoms returned. Immediate aortic valve replacement as it had become infected badly even eating away the base of the valve. Op took 12 hours. I would have died after the cardiac surgeon had left. Had a massive bleed. At that point the surgeon had returned to get his watch. He tried a new procedure on the spot. When I woke in the recovery room there was a group of doctors gathered to see that their inspiration had worked. So here I am now 3 years later with a good life. I live in Dunedin New Zealand
