About Me (In My Own Words)
Had a murmur as a kid. No big deal, always played sports, very athletic, was in the service. Then after my 27 birthday, my blood pressure was wacky. 160/20. My aortic valve had gone bad. I went to NYU to get a prosthetic valve installed. St. Jude mechanical valve. Minimally invasive surgery. It was scary. The nurses weren't that caring, felt like a number. Got out of there in like 4 days, i think it was four days recovery, and went home. Now I'm 35, still on coumadin every day. Get my blood checked bi-weekly. 3.0-3.5 is my target INR.
