About Me (In My Own Words)
I have a terrible family history of calcification at early age. Switched to a plant diet & began statins 12 yrs ago after learning I had slight stenosis. Arotic stenosis caught up to me in the Covid year, of course, experiencing dizziness, shortness of breath, & chest pain without significant artery disease. I decided to lay low, wait for vacines, & then get a TAVR. Dr Fadi Matar, UF Tampa General Hospital, Professor, Interventional Cardiology, helped me get through this wait period via medications & careful monitoring. In any case, I got the Moderna series vacine completed & had my TAVR 2 weeks ago. Frankly, I've had harder times changing a tire. It was quick & easy. I just realized how good sore leg muscles feel, again. A couple of days after the procedure I'm walking 3-5 miles a day & leg muscles are sore. I've walked 3 miles this morning & getting back on my bicycle for the 1st time this afternoon. Five years ago I was mountain biking in Costa Rica & may never do that again, but I'm planning to start workouts I on my bike and see how far I can get now with the TAVR. Feeling normal again!
