About Me (In My Own Words)
At age 65, primary care doc sent me for an Echo due to a heart murmur in December 2023. Echo showed "severe stenosis" Tricuspid Aortic Valve. Cath lab picked up a 90% blockage on right side ventricle. LDL panels have always been good, however I have an elevated high Lp (a). I never had any associated symptoms, very active on the bike, hockey, hiking and gym. Dr. Helm and team performed a Mini Valve Replacement with a 29mm Edwards Valve and CABGx1.
Back in the gym after 3 weeks and back to my full routine after 6 months. Murmur is gone with no noticeable athletic performance difference otherwise. I still "suck wind" riding up the hills!
