I am anxiously awaiting my surgery which is only a day away. I was at the hospital today for final testing and information regarding the surgery. My husband, Wil, and I both decided it was not going to be a walk in the park! Well, we are glad it is almost here and that my valve issues will be resolved. This came to us out of left field...only a blood pressure aberration. Thank God for good doctors who insisted I follow up. The echocardiogram revealed two severely leaking valves (aortic and mitral) and one which may need nothing at all (tricuspid). The follow up TEE confirmed the diagnosis and so I was introduced to Dr. Robert Riley. I am in good hands and I know that I can make it through this surgery. I am scared, as is Wil, but we are so grateful that this condition was discovered and that it can be fixed. Modern medicine is indeed miraculous. Onward and upward!
