About Me (In My Own Words)
My Aortic Stenosis due to Bicuspid Valve was found 2 years ago when I had my first echocardiogram. I was told it was mild to moderate and I wouldn't have to worry about surgery for atleast 5 to 10 years. Last week I went to the ER and had another echo and was told it had progressed and I will need surgery within a year. I'm scared to death. I have a follow up with my cardiologist in a couple of weeks and I'm hoping to find out more information. Within a year, does that mean they continue to monitor or that's it, pick a date within the next year and get the surgery. I'm so confused. I'm a 50 year old female.
