About Me (In My Own Words)
My condition is not valve related. A couple of months ago I was diagnosed with Anomalous Coronary Artery (ACA) of type ALCAPA. In plain English that means when my heart was formed in the womb, my left coronary artery did not grow from the left side of my heart as it should have but instead grew from the right side of my heart.
Was not aware of this condition until a couple of months ago after repeated bouts of ischemia attacks. My cardiologist did an angiogram thinking I must have some blockage but I had none. But the process did allow him to discover the ACA.
Having open heart surgery in a couple of days and really just wanted to get any recovery tips that might help the process go as smooth as possible. Thanks!
