About Me (In My Own Words)
I was born diagnosed with Tetrology of Fallout with absent pulmonary heart valve and a right aortic arch. I had one corrective surgery when I was 13 months old to repair some "holes." Scar tissue from that surgery formed a sort of make-shift valve that I was lacking. I've always done really well for my condition- never blue, no fainting and could almost be as physical as anyone else. In the last few years though.. I've been feeling it. My MRI revealed that it is time to take action. As nervous as I am, I'm ready to get this over with and feel better! It is possible I am a candidate for valve placement through a catheter. I would receive the Edwards-Sapien valve, if all goes well while they're "in there." If conditions are not right, too narrow or wide of an opening where the valve would be placed, then I will have to have another OHS and will receive a Melody valve.
I can finally say that I am now excited for this adventure! It's been hanging over my head my whole lifetime but I know I'll come out great and better than ever!
