About Me (In My Own Words)
I am a musician (www.ivorottley.com) and was diagnosed with a congenital aortic valve problem aged 11. This year , aged 48 It was recommended I have a valve replacement. (Bovine tissue valve). I was told post surgery that my own valve was actually uni-cuspid! I have been suffering with Pericarditis since surgery (5 months) which initially caused bouts of fast AF. I was successfully treated with steroidal drugs, but the Pericarditis re-occured after 10 weeks. I'm now on Ibrufrofen and colchicine. I'm feeling frustrated because I can't do very much, but am hoping it resolves itself in time. I'm looking forward to traveling to warm, beautiful European destinations in a VW campervan once I'm well again. :)
