About Me

I've known about the defect for years (bicuspid tricuspid valve) and now I have been told the operation is needed before symptoms develop! I have few symptoms currently and have recently had my first child. One of the surgeons has suggested something called PEARS which is a new treatment to prevent later issues with the Ross procedure. PEARS stands for personalised external aortic root support - its new technology - I will be number 20 to get it in the UK (roughly). There is little research and I'm not sure how much like a guinea pig I fell like being! I started a blog: https://howardsinternalrefurb.home.blog/
