About Me (In My Own Words)
I was born with a bicuspid valve and at 52 years old I had an Edward's tissue aortic valve and mitral valve annuloplasty (7 years ago.)My valve is now stenotic and calcified with a tear in my current prosthetic valve. I'm scheduled for another Aortic valve replacement August 31st. I know what I am in for and I can't wait to get it fixed. My symptoms have progressed to the point I can't do much of anything. The shortness of breath and pressure sensation seem to have rapidly progressed and now I'm only 7 days away from getting this fixed.
I've got nothing but wonderful things to say about Baylor heart hospital in Plano. I scheduled the first available date and it feels like it has been forever! I saw Dr. Brinkman on July 3rd.
The journey can be arduous but I know it will be well worth it! I'm ready to have my life back!
