About Me (In My Own Words)
In Sept., of 2019 I woke up to mini-strokes. I checked into the ER and found it was my heart valve. On Friday the 13th in Sept. of 2019. I hade a heart valve replacement cause there was bacteria on the valve. I received a soft tissue heart valve replacement. I'm a retired 47-year-old police officer.
Just a few weeks ago, I took my dog for a walk and ended up where I could not breathe. I went to the hospital ER and I had blood clots from my legs in my lungs as well as blood clots on my soft tissue valve.
They sent me home on blood thinners where I have to inject myself twice a day. Two days ago I had a transesophageal Echo (TEE) done and found there was still some clotting on the Aortic Heart Valve soft tissue replaced back in Sept. of 2019.
Tommorow I have a CTA scan to check on the blood clots in the lung to make sure my lungs are healthy enough for the heart valve replacement.
