2/22/2012 I underwent minimally invasive heart surgery for a mitral valve regurgitation (severe). After the all the incisions were made (splitting ribs, etc.), they were not able to get the guide wire up to my heart through my artery, so they went ahead and broke my chest and repaired my valve that way. So as you can see I am recovering from two operations at once. I was off of all medications except cummading, two and 1/2 weeks out.
I am 7 weeks out and my chest still hurts and I have a sharp pain under left side ribs when I breath in deeply.
