GP heard a significant heart murmur during a physical (which was initiated after consistently feeling chest pain during exertion) and ordered follow-up tests with a cardiologist. EKG and stress test were perfect, but Echo showed the prolapsed Mitral Valve and a TEE confirmed severe regurgitation as a result. Grateful it was caught in time to prevent permanent damage to an otherwise perfectly healthy heart.
