About Me
I have a severe Mitral Valve regurgitation, which means that more than 1/2 of my oxygenated blood is not going to the rest of my body. It is going back into the atrium, causing enlargement and probably the irregular beats that sent me to urgent care last fall. I've had this heart murmur most of my life, but it wasn't diagnosed until the late 70's when I was told it was a mitral valve prolapse. With age, the support structures for the valves broke down and the posterior valve completely prolapsed. Fortunately I need a repair of that valve and not a replacement.
