About Me (In My Own Words)
I was born with a bi-cuspid aorta valve and had it replaced in Feb 2000 with a bovine tissue valve when I was 55 years old. I am now 66 and will need another replacement in the very near future. I'm trying to keep abreast with new medical technology in regards to advances and minimal invasive surgeries. I read where you may not have to take cumadin if you opt for the mechanical valve. Looking back, I wish I had gone for the mechanical valve originally, because I wouldn't be facing another open heart surgery, so any new info I can receive on this surgery would be greatly appreciated.
