About Me (In My Own Words)
I was a Coronary Artery Disease patient for 3 years, and went to Riverside Regional Hospital for shortness of breath on Thanksgiving (before I are anything!), November 23, 2017. They did a catheterization and I had a heart attack that night (in the hosptial). They kept me for a week trying to decide what to do with me. I am very small, 90 lbs at the time, and a lifelong Type 1 diabetic. My veins were too small for any stents. I had a second attack on 12/1/2017, so they put me in deep cool and flew me up to VCU. They kept me in a coma for 4 days trying to map out a plan for me. I had two CBG bypasses and a mitral valve replacement. It has been a long recovery, but I am much better. My valve would flutter very fast during the first six months, but the last six months it has been doing fine, until a few days ago, when it started the random acceleration. I do not have Afib. Then today, it went through a period of about 20 minutes very rapid, and my back started feeling a little sore in the spot where I had my first heart attack. It has settled down and feels normal again now. Could it be triggered by colder weather?
