About Me (In My Own Words)
I was diagnosed with AFIB in August of 2022 during a routine physical. I had no idea that I had AFIB. First Echo of my heart in September '22 revealed generally normal function with mild regurgitation of the Mitral Valve. Fast forward to April '23, I was feeling lethargic, having difficulty breathing, particularly in the prone position, and was putting on weight. Went into the Hospital with Chronic Heart Failure. AFIB had taken over, high pulse and BP counts. DRs got it under control after a few days and took the water weight off with Lasix. Echo and TEE exams show the chamber where the mitral valve is located as enlarged and now have severe mitral valve regurgitation. Now scheduled for Robotic assisted mitral valve repair/replacement, Maze, LAA Ligation procedure on July 24.
