hello my name is demetria pompey i'am 41 back in September of last year I when to see a cardiologist doctor I had a echo test , and tee test and a catheterization done on my heart the doctor diagnoses was that had mitral valve disorder which means .that my mitral valve was servely damage and it was leaking into my lungs and my ankles would swell up alot because of it and I would cough alot never thought that I had this problem with my heart until now I was shock by the news . me beening so young I've been through alot in my life at the age of 20 I was disgnose with Hodgkin's disease back in 1991 and 1992 but i'am cancer free .now 23 years free and now I have mitral valve disorder so my heart doctor sent me to see doctor james greelish who is a heart valve surgeon he told me that my mitral valve was damage and I need to have heart valve surgery to repair the valve . so he show me this valve ring called the annuloplasty ring one good thing .about the annuloplasty ring is that i will .not have to take blood thinners for the rest of my life and that is great news so on January 22 of this month i will be having my heart valve surgery i know i have faith in god to get through this and i know that it going to be a long recovery but i'am willing .to get through it so i can live a health and normal life again i know that after i have it i will not have any more swelling . no more coughing and my breathing will be better to and that is what i want to be health again and i know that god is going to be with me and i'am not afraid because i'am in god hands and he in control i'am standing on my faith and trusting n him that my surgery will be successful and everything will go well and i will come out of surgery alright that is my prayer
