About Me (In My Own Words)
AORTIC VALVE. Replacement with a bovine valve. I had severe (4+) aortic valve regurgitation, with significant flow reversal in the proximal descending aorta and significant flow reversal in the abdominal aorta. Tricuspid aortic valve had mild thickening. The peak gradient was 14 mmHg (peak velocity = 184.8 cm/s). As a result, the left ventricle was severely dilated. There was left ventricular hypertrophy. The Left ventricular systolic function was normal. EF = 66 ± 5% (2D biplane). The right ventricle was normal in size. Right ventricular systolic function was normal. The left atrial cavity was severely dilated with severe (4+) aortic valve regurgitation. I had a Trileaflet aortic valve without prolapse. The mid ascending aorta 4.3cm. BSA ~2.06.
