About Me (In My Own Words)
One night in November I was trying to go to sleep an I could not breathe. My son and mother took me to the ER. In a few hours they said I had heart failure. Never in a million years would I have thought I could not breathe because I was having heart failure. My local ER gave recommendation to be transferred to a bigger hospital. I decided to go home.
After seeing my pcp I got an echo. It showed severe mitral valve stenosis. I got an appointment with a cardiologist. We did not hit it off well. He said he wanted to do a TEE I was not excited about being put to sleep but it was done 12/18. Tee report said severe stenosis, severe regurgitation and severely dilated left atrium. There was no contact with the cardiologist after that when I got a call to see interventional cardiology to talk about doing a cardiac cath.
I am beyond scared, relationships are suffering and I have been taken out of work since 12-10-25 which is when my first echo resulted. I am a registered nurse but I am not a cardiac nurse. I am 45 years old.
