About Me (In My Own Words)
I had rheumatic fever as a child and suffered another bout in 1985. After seeing doctors for 10 yrs and my condition worsening they couldn't figure what was wrong, I was told to go home and wait for the good lord to call me home.Well, i was not ready to give up just yet, since I had a husband and 3 little ones that needed me. So, to make a long story short by the time someone figured it out I already had severe mitral valve stenosis and I had to have my mitral valve replaced this was done back in 1995. Did wonderful, went home to my fam and 7 yrs later I developed a cough so went to see my cardiologist only to be told that I was going into congestive heart failure and had to have the aortic valve replaced. Yay me, right? Well that too went well this was done in 2003. I since have suffered a TIA and a stroke as well. I recently had my gall bladder removed that went well but then I went to have my annual echo cardiogram done and I heard what I didn't want to hear- your aortic valve is leaky...... So, I will be having a TEE done in the next couple of weeks to see what needs to be done. I'm not sure what to expect and haven't found much of anything to read so....until then! Happy life happy heart!
