About Me (In My Own Words)
Hello, my name is Carolyn and 4 days ago I was diagnosed by the primary care physician with a mild leaking hear valve which was the result of a echocardiogram. I had been to my PCP for an upper respiratory infection because I was dealing with asthmatic symptoms which were normal whenever I had an upper respiratory infection. Truthfully, this news is really stressing me out. My PCP tried to assure me that it is MILD and there is nothing to worry about and as such she will not even worry about it until another ECG in a year! Well, on one hand I'm happy to hear that but on the other, I'm so scared to death (literally)! SO, I'm doing my research and came across this site. I'm finding out that there are people that have this at an very advanced stage and are documenting their whole experience....so if you can do, so can I! I currently have several calls in to several cardiologists but none have called me back yet. I just want to be as pro-active with this as I can. Thanks!
