About Me (In My Own Words)
I truly wish that the trauma I endured with SAVR could have been avoided. I regret that TAVR wad not offered to me in 2015 when I requested it. TIP to New Patients: Pursue all available options and ask for the reasons for being denied a choice.
I am pleased to know that my hospital in Denver now has “TAVR Tuesdays” in which they reserve the whole day for patients needing the procedure. My cardiologist tells me that more TAVRs are now being performed in Denver than traditional open heart surgeries.
I hope that my heart can work well for my lifetime with this new valve, but if I needs replacement, it will be done with a TAVR procedure. I am certain of that.
