About Me (In My Own Words)
I am a 37 year old woman & found out I have moderate/severe mitral valve prolapse and regurgitation earlier this year. I have become quite symptomatic with PvCs and some shortness of breath/fatigue over the past few months. My cardiologist and I decided to go ahead with mitral valve repair surgery, scheduled for end of this week. TBD whether it will be a sternectomy or thoractomy. I am pretty nervous but also looking forward to not having to worry so much about something happening to my heart whenever I feel the palpitations.
I am curious to hear stories from anyone else who has had a repair procedure this young. How did the procedure go? What was your recovery like?
